FTI user payout: Core adds a private setting to choose how forward trade-in values are calculated and displayed; Submission updates FTI experience to support User payout mode (what the customer receives, without the new equipment value in that flow). Previous mode keeps working as is.

Tech Notes

What must be done before deployment:

  • After deploy, set FTI Pricing Mode on the Core app instance in Manager for partners that should use User payout (default remains Trade-In payout).

New settings/configs/scopes:

  • Core, Submission
    • New setting
      • FTI Pricing Mode (App Instance (Core) > Private Settings > Feature Settings > Forward trade-in (FTI))
        • Chooses how forward trade-in money is framed for shoppers and staff: either “what I pay for the new device” or “what I get for my old one.” Default is unchanged for existing customers.
        • Trade-In payout : the experience stays on the new purchase — amounts and layout highlight what the customer pays when they buy the replacement. This is the behaviour you already have today.
        • User payout: the story shifts to the trade-in reward — the amount the customer is paid for handing in the old product is based on value in + value extra. The price of the new equipment is not mixed into that “what you receive” picture, and those surfaces hide value new so the message stays clear for programs that pay the user first and sell the new item separately.
        • Submission reads this from the Core app instance (no new Submission setting); deploy Core with or before Submission so the mode is available.
